Our Mission

Our mission is to promote mental health, provide education, and build community across all ages through the power of tabletop gaming.

Children and adults playing a board game at a table in a community center or indoor space.

What is Board Game Therapy?

A woman with glasses and curly hair wearing a red shirt is laughing and raising her hand, sitting at a table with a young girl with long curly hair wearing a turquoise shirt. They are engaged in a game with colorful tokens and game cards on the table. Other people are visible in the background, sitting at similar tables in a well-lit room.

Board Game Therapy promotes multiple mental health benefits including problem-solving, critical thinking, adaptive reasoning, communication, risk assessment, perspective taking, and responding to failure. Additionally, games promote relationships, trust, communication, and other prosocial skills.

These mental health benefits are attainable even outside of the therapy setting!! Board Game Therapy is now more than a therapeutic modality; it is a community movement! You can have absolutely nothing in common with someone and still join them at the table to play a game. That is what Board Game Therapy is all about, building community, connection, and mental health--all over a fun game.
